John Bennett wins WA Country Music Award

After a successful 2011 which included the WA Indigenous Song of the Year Award for 'Wangkaja" and a Deadly Award nomination for Male Artist of the Year, Kimberley singer songwriter, John Bennett has won a Songwriters Award for "Long Way Home" at the 2012 WA Country Music Awards. John also received a nomination for Best Male Artist.
Bennett's self-titled debut album release has been highly successful and continues to grab the attention of the national music industry.
Apart from his Country Music Award, John performed two shows with two time Gammy Award winner, Lucky Oceans to a near full audience at the 2012 Boyup Brook Music Festival. The audience which was drawn from people all across the state of Western Australia welcomed John with open arms as he peformed songs from his debut album.
John will appear alongside WA Indigenous Guitarist of the Year, Boyd Stokes from Yabu at Nannup Music Festival on the 3rd & 4th of March 2012.
